Pseudonymization software for notaries, 100% local.
Hexagone AI is French pseudonymization software that runs entirely on the computers of the notary and their staff. It replaces the parties' names, addresses, dates of birth, amounts and references in a deed or file before Claude, ChatGPT, Mistral or any other AI reads them, then re-identifies the answer locally. Notarial secrecy stays inside the office.
Draft deeds, estate declarations, preliminary sale agreements, client correspondence: a notarial file brings together the civil status, assets and family situation of identified people. Generative AI saves time on these documents, provided none of that information is handed to it. Hexagone AI prepares a copy where nothing identifies your clients any more, on your own machine.
What your profession's rules say about AI
- Notaries' Code of Ethics, article 8 (decree no. 2023-1297)
"The notary and every person under their authority are bound by professional secrecy. Professional secrecy is general and absolute." (our translation)
Secrecy covers the whole office, staff included: a prompt a clerk sends to an AI service commits the office as if it came from the notary.
- CSN Institute of Legal Studies, guide "Introduction to artificial intelligence" (December 2025)
Three principles: "Absolute respect for professional secrecy", "Control over the processing of personal data", "Full and complete responsibility for the notarial deed". (our translation)
The first two principles are about what leaves the office. Pseudonymising locally answers both at once; the third is a reminder that the notary reviews and answers for everything the AI produces.
- Conseil supérieur du notariat, press release of 9 July 2026
The CSN selected Mistral AI and Scaleway, a "secure European cloud environment […] guaranteeing respect for the notary's professional secrecy". Notaries "may choose other solutions that respect the AI charter circulated by the profession". (our translation)
The profession frames the choice of tools rather than imposing one. A copy pseudonymised on the workstation stays useful with the profession's tool as with any other.
- CNIL (French data protection authority), Q&A on using a generative AI system (July 2024)
"Never share confidential information such as personal data […] when using a consumer service", and "favour deploying on-site (on premise) solutions". (our translation)
The most sensitive step, the one that sees the real identities, is the one Hexagone AI keeps on site.
- French Penal Code, article 226-13
Disclosure of secret information by the person entrusted with it "is punishable by one year's imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros". (our translation)
It applies to notaries as to every profession bound by secrecy.
A deed of sale or an estate declaration holds the parties' full civil status, their addresses, their matrimonial regime, their heirs and the detail of their assets. Pasting it into a consumer AI assistant hands all of that to a company that is not bound by notarial secrecy.
Replacing names by hand works for a one-off question. On an estate file with several heirs, earlier deeds and bank statements, there is always an address, a date of birth or an IBAN left somewhere, and the AI loses track of who inherits what.
Even with an AI tool chosen by the profession, every identifying detail that is not sent is a detail that cannot leak. Pseudonymising before sending remains the one safeguard that depends on no provider.
How it works
Open the deed or file in Hexagone AI
PDF (scanned ones too, with local OCR), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text. One document or the whole file directory.
Detection runs on the office's computer
Identifying data is replaced with neutral markers or realistic substitutes. The same heir keeps the same pseudonym across every document.
You review before exporting
Every detection appears in the preview pane, and you can correct anything before exporting the protected copy, rebuilt with its original layout.
The AI works on the copy
Mistral, Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or whatever tool your office uses: the AI reads a file where nothing identifies your clients any more.
The answer is re-identified locally
The mapping never leaves your computer. Hexagone AI puts the real identities back into the answer, on your machine.
What gets replaced
- Names of parties, spouses and heirs, initials and aliases
- Names of companies and property holding companies
- Postal addresses, emails and phone numbers
- Social security, passport and tax numbers
- IBANs, card numbers and amounts
- Dates of birth and other identifying dates
- File numbers and client references
- Your own entity types, which you define yourself
Frequently asked questions
- Can a notary use ChatGPT or Mistral on a client file?
- Notarial secrecy is "general and absolute" (Notaries' Code of Ethics, art. 8), and the CNIL advises never sharing personal data with a consumer AI service. Using an AI on a file whose identifying data was removed beforehand, and reviewing what it produces, respects both rules. Pasting the raw file does not.
- The CSN chose Mistral AI: do I still need to pseudonymise?
- The CSN selected Mistral AI and Scaleway in July 2026, and notes that notaries may choose other solutions that respect the profession's AI charter. A secure environment reduces risk on the provider's side; pseudonymising before sending means no identity reaches it at all. The two combine, and the pseudonymised copy also works with the other tools your staff use.
- Why a local tool rather than an online service?
- With an online service, the original deed, real identities included, is sent to the vendor to be processed. With Hexagone AI, the original document and the mapping stay on the office's computer. It is also what the CNIL recommends when it advises favouring on-site solutions.
- Is pseudonymised data still personal data?
- For the office, yes: it holds the mapping, so the GDPR still applies. Pseudonymisation is a security measure the GDPR names explicitly (articles 25 and 32), not a way out of the regulation. The detail is in our guide on anonymisation and pseudonymisation.
- Is Hexagone AI a French company?
- Yes. HEXAGONE AI is a French SAS registered in Nanterre (SIREN 989 062 849), headquartered in Boulogne-Billancourt, founded in 2025 by Mariia Zameshina and Romain Boudet. The desktop software transmits no document, so there is no data transfer to organise.
- How much does Hexagone AI cost for a notarial office?
- €49 excl. VAT per user per month billed annually (€59 monthly) for Starter, €79 (€99 monthly) for Pro. One week's free trial, no credit card: you can test it on a real file, since nothing is uploaded.
